ABOUT

"Created to create"

Nicky Edwards creates contemporary fine art work. She is inspired by the natural beauty that surrounds her home in Sussex. Nicky strives to convey her own perspective on the worlds most beautiful organic scenes of land, sea and sky. The depth and detail of Nicky's impasto style paintings often communicate beyond words, expressing a language of colour, shape and emotion projected in each individual brush stroke.

Nicky embraces various methods of infusing texture into her paintings which often includes using multiple layers of acrylic paint. She loves working with earthly colours that radiate in to a room, releasing a sense of movement.

Nicky has been profiled in "Home and Garden" magazine during the spring arts edition in 2021. She has exhibited  her paintings in a number of galleries across Southern England . Nicky has been a member of the art society in Ditchling. Her work has sold at many art shows including the Sussex Art fair at Goodwood racecourse and Parallax in Kensington. Art Battle has been a particular favourite event for Nicky as it has included an open bidding for her painting as part of a live competition with other incredible talented artist which have resulted in her paintings being sold before the ink has dried.

Commissions: If you especially love a particular piece that has been previously sold, or you have a painting idea in mind, please feel free to contact Nicky about the subject matter and colour range that sparks your interest and she can create a new, bespoke painting just for you.

Artist Statement

"As an artist, I am deeply passionate about creating beautiful fine art paintings that bring a sense of peace and tranquility to peoples homes. Through my work there is a freedom to escape the chaos of everyday life and find solace in the beauty of art. With each stroke of my brush, scrape of my pallet knife or soft slide of a sponge, I try to capture the essence of nature through emotion that stem from my own experiences.

Through the interplay of different colour forms and texture, my paintings invite viewers to slow down and appreciate the simple, yet lush beauty that surrounds us. It is my hope that my work serves as a reminder to be still, pause and take in the simple moments of joy that enrich our lives".
